This newsletter will go out to you every two weeks with important updates, so please watch out. This will be related to the college application process, college & career events available in our community, vital scholarships and financial information, and many other things.
Reminders:
FAFSA has officially begun!
You should all be working on your FAFSA and TAP with Ms. Chowdhury or Mrs. Capellan.
CREATE FSA ID
You need an FSA ID for you AND your parent!
EOP requires you to complete a second portion of the application.
You must answer three short questions and a few family income questions. Without the SUNY EOP Writing and Financial Info section, your application is incomplete.
Scholarships

Create a log-in once you hit the hyperlink
Be a high school senior or entering your first year of undergraduate studies at the time of applicationsubmission.
Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, orvocational-technical school for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Scholarship Plus (January 17th, 2024)
Strong academic achievement (84.5% or higher G.P.A.)
Significant financial need (family income less than $52,000)
Faced great adversity
Willingness to engage with the Scholarship Plus community in occasional events, workshops, and semester check-ins.
Ascend Educational Fund Scholarship (February) Up to $20,000
Must be born outside the United States or have two parents born outside the United States
Must be a graduating senior at a high school in the five boroughs of New York City
Must enroll full-time at an accredited public or private college or university in the Fall following graduation from high school
Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarships (February 1st) $20,000
Minimum 2.0 GPA
Pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related discipline.
Attending an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada
Permanent resident or citizen of the United States, Canada, or possess a student visa
