Welcome to College Corner Seniors! This newsletter will go out to you every two weeks with important updates so please keep an eye out. Congrats to all of you that have started CUNY applications and are working on them! This process can be long and tiring so keep track of all your work! Do your own research and ask us before you submit anything. The College Corner will be related to the college application process, college & career events available in our community, vital scholarships and financial information, and a host of other things.   • Bring all documentation for FSA creation and completing FAFSA! Refer to FAFSA Checklist

  • Must have Social Security for FSA on Oct 13th

  • Create an FSA with a parent!

  • Work on your college list and essay

Important Senior Events Line up for October

  • FAFSA Day- October 17th

  • October 28th- Senior Kick off

  • October 28th- CUNY due

Scholarships Greenhouse Scholars Due date: November 1st, 2022 Amount: $5,000 (Renewable up to 4 years) Eligibility: - Be a graduating high school senior in CO, GA, IL. NC, or NY planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution. - Minimum GPA of 3.5. - Student must demonstrate financial need (annual household income less than $70,000). - Students should have excellent leadership skills, the ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community. Website: scholars/become-a-scholar/ Orangesoft Women In Technology Due date: October 31st, 2022 Amount: $1,000 Eligibility: - Be a student who is currently studying or has been accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States. - Be currently enrolled in a STEM granting program. - Identify as a woman - Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Website: Golden Door Scholars Due date: October 23rd, 2022 Amount: Funding for a 4-year degree Eligibility: - Applicants must have DACA, TPS, or be undocumented -Applicants must have high financial need -Must be interested in pursuing the following career paths: software engineering, nursing, data analytics, business analytics, and digital marketing. -Applicants can be high school seniors, recent high school graduates, current community college/college students, or have obtained a GED Website:
