Welcome to College Corner Seniors! This newsletter will go out to you every two weeks with important updates so please keep an eye out. The College Corner will be related to the college application process, college & career events available in our community, vital scholarships and financial information, and a host of other things. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Capellan or Ms. Chowdhury at collegeoffice@fdaiii.com Congrats to all of you that have submitted your CUNY and FAFSA/TAP! We are so proud of you all for working so hard. For those still working on your application, please bring in the proper forms ASAP. If you want to start a SUNY, create an account and do your own research on schools. Do not submit anything alone! Friday is Senior Kick-Off! It's day of celebration and we all are so proud of you! Bring in your permission slip for the trip. Dress nice and comfortable. Refer to Ms. Capellan's email for guidance on attire.

Important Dates October 28th- Senior Kick-Off! October 28th-CUNY Due November 2nd: Manhattan College Trip Permission slips will be distributed this week. Scholarships Coca-Cola Foundation Scholarships Due Date: October 31st, 2022 Amount: 20,000 Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Students need a 3.0 GPA and to fill out an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcripts by October 31, 2022, at 5 p.m. Eastern. Greenhouse Scholars Due date: November 1st, 2022 Amount: $5,000 (Renewable up to 4 years) Eligibility: - Be a graduating high school senior in CO, GA, IL. NC, or NY planning to attend a four-year accredited academic institution. - Minimum GPA of 3.5. - Student must demonstrate financial need (annual household income less than $70,000). - Students should have excellent leadership skills, the ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community.
